Practice Report Of Simulative Consecutive Interpretation For President Xi Jinping’s Keynote Speech On Beijing APEC CEO Summit In 2015

As the globalization continues deepening and China has an increasingly strong overall national strength, it plays an important role in the international affairs. This renders more frequent communication and exchange with interpreting becoming an indispensable part. It matters a lot whether an interpreter can translate the source language into the target one in an accurate way, which is also an evaluation of an interpreter’s ability.For the interpreting learner, mock conference is an exceptional way to enhance skill. Mock conference, as one of the patterns of scene simulation, gives the first hand experience to the interpreter. Such training cultivates the psychological quality of students and promotes their professional skills.To this end, the author chooses the keynote speech delivered by President Xi Jinping on the opening ceremony of APEC CEO Summit in Beijing November, 2014 as the material of mock consecutive interpreting, trying to analyze and discuss the problems occurred during interpreting so as to find out feasible strategy and promote interpreting skill in future works.
