Study On The New Directors’Martial Arts Films Narrative Style

As a popular art, the film is very sensitive to the change of society environment, tend to change actively to adapt to the changes of the times. In twenty-first Century, the whole China society is in a more complex transformation period. In this kind of background, this paper selects a group of new directors as the research object, who were born in twentieth century, the late seventies’and the early eighties’, beside, they started to direct films in the early twenty-first century, with martial arts film as an example, which is the important type of China film, to research new director at the new era background how to express themselves, and in this process, what showed the new narrative style. The thesis consists of four parts:First, the new martial arts films’civilian narration:With the transformation of the film art development, and the audiences have more and more expectation on the martial arts film, new martial arts films began to pursue more resonate with the audiences, in order to get the audiences’identity in the ideology. Mainly through two ways:the pursuit of knight-errant earthly life transition and rebellious expression of martial arts.Second, the new martial arts films’system narration:Knight-errant began to seek recognition of system forwardly, or passive surrender to the constraint of system, but in the ideology of the system have unconsciously recognized. Derived from the China was founded sixty years, the political system increasingly sophisticated, new martial arts film director in a more relaxed censorship regime which rely on the system will bring more money and political support.Third, the new martial arts films’mix narration:The audience’s aesthetic start to become more complex under the fierce collision of Chinese and Western cultures.
