Climate change is not only a scientific problem, but also a major social problem about which all the people in the world concern. The climate changes since 2000, like smog in China and El Ni?o of the Pacific Ocean, have a significant effect on the life and health of the mankind. Many countries and climate scientists have studied the problem of climate changes intensively, and published a lot of academic papers and reports. The Economist, a well-known international magazine, carries the special reports about the issue. Translating foreign studies and academic theses on the problem can have an important significance on helping Chinese know the latest international studies about the issue and improve my translating ability.On the basis of translating these reports about climate changes in The Economist in 2014, the thesis firstly introduces the background and linguistic features of the English reports. Secondly, it describes the translating process including preparation pre-translation, reading, translating the reports and improvement after translation. Thirdly, it analyzes the difficulties of the translation, such as difficulties in translating the titles, words and sentences, and their solutions. Fourthly, the thesis explains the writer’s thoughts of the translation. Last, conclude the thesis.
