Foreign language anxiety has been found in various backgrounds students and this emotional variable has drawn much attention by foreign language researchers and educators from home and abroad. A study for the anxiety of language can do help to improve the language learning ability, and is helpful for foreign language teaching. With the development of interpretation, there are in total 159 universities have set up MTI(Mater of Translation and Interpreting) in China which caused more studies on this field. So more and more studies are focused on interpretation students being influenced by listening anxiety.In this study, combining quantitative study and qualitative study, it mainly focuses on the interpretation students listening anxiety during the English-Chinese consecutive interpreting performance. Quantitative study explores and analyses the degree of students’ anxiety and its influence. The study further explores the reasons causing the anxiety and further suggestions for students and future studies are put forward based on this one.The findings show that: firstly, Interpreting students experience the listening comprehension anxiety during English-Chinese consecutive interpreting; secondly, there are three main reasons causing anxiety such as whether the speaker speaks Standard English or with accent, the speed and volume of the speaker and bilingual technique ability; thirdly, a significant correlation is found between listening anxiety and English-Chinese consecutive interpreting performance in Statistics.At last, based on the results of the study, suggestions are put forward to help teachers and students cope with interpretation anxiety and improve student’s interpretation performance.
