Under the background of economic globalization,along with the deepening reform and opening up in China,especially after China joined the World Trade Organization,international communication is becoming more and more in China.In this situation,language,as the bridge for communication,plays an important role and the needs for qualified interpreters are increasing.Interpreting is the exchange of two languages and it has helped China to communicate more with other countries and it plays an important role in international exchange and trade.Interpreting has a long history and it already showed its importance in ancient China on trade and cultural exchanges.At present,the number of interpreters could not meet the high demand due to the rapid development of the society;What's more,the study of interpreting is not as much as that in western countries.With the policy of opening up,interpreting plays a more significant role and people start to recognize its importance in international exchanges.China has invested more time and money on the current study and it will continue to do that in a more specific way.All kinds of interpreting examination systems are improving.The current Chinese studies of interpreting not only involve the process of interpreting research,but also focus on the language problems of interpreting,interpreter roles and detailed and in-depth analysis of interpreting teaching.Interpreting theory is also becoming more systematized and interpreting is expected to develop more rapidly in the near future.Interpreting can be divided into simultaneous interpreting and consecutive interpreting.Simultaneous interpreting is to interpret what the speaker said at the same time and it is mainly used in big international meetings.Simultaneous interpreting has a high demand of the comprehensive quality of the interpreter,especially the ability of listening and comprehension.Interpreters have to listen and interpret at the same time regardless of any interference factors and they have to try their best to output as more information as possible of what the speaker said.It is like multitask and we can see how difficult it is.Interpreter have to make more effort to improve their ability in multitask.Consecutive Interpreting is one of the most commonly seen interpreting and it tests listening,comprehension and memory skills of interpreters.The level of the consecutive interpreting skills shows the comprehensive quality of interpreters.Generally speaking,for consecutive interpreting,interpreters will hear what the speaker said first and they are able to make notes and then interpret when the speaker isdone speaking.During the process,listening,memory and notes are crucial.The study of consecutive interpreting will help us study it and improve the ability and it is also good for teaching skill.The purpose of both simultaneous interpreting and consecutive interpreting are to convey the meaning of what the speaker said and help speaker to communicate with the audience.Consecutive interpreting is used in occasions that two languages are involved and the meeting is relatively small,such as foreign meetings,bilateral negotiation,business visit,interview and press release.It will not take long time,while simultaneous interpreting is used in big international meetings in order to save time since the meeting normally lasts a long time.This practice report studies consecutive interpreting and it mainly analyzes the speech interpreting.The focus of the paper is to analyze how the interpreter deal with listening,comprehension and output,especially that there are many professional terms,names of places and cultural factors in the speech.The paper will introduce in detail how the interpreter got the task,how to prepare and how to finish the whole task with summary.There will be problems and solutions used in the paper to help interpreters make the summary.The paper contains four parts: the first part is the introduction of the task and the interpreter will introduce the host and the speaker.The second part is the interpreting preparation.The interpreter will search information about the speaker and prepare relative terms and know more about the field and make the evaluation systems in order to do the interpreting well.The third part is the analysis of the interpreting process.The interpreter will analyze three factors:listening and comprehension,memory and culture issues.There are interpreting theories and actual use mentioned to deeply analyze the process.The fourth part is analysis and summary.The interpreter learned a lot through the practice and she would like to share all the experience and lessons with interpreting learners.The analysis of interpreting and the
