Listening comprehension of interpretation is a hot topic at home and abroad. Gile’seffort model indicates that memorization and note taking are closely related to listeningcomprehension and shows the importance of attention splitting. The cognitive processof consecutive interpreting clearly shows steps of thinking of interpreter along theprocess. Then, combined with these two theories, the author summarizes two majorobstacles of listening comprehension of complex sentence, which are caused by the longcontent and complicated structure. Finally, the author comes up with three copingstrategies: advance preparation can help to establish some new association schemas, improving the interpreter’s reaction capacity and making him more focused oncomprehension; sense group division and key information identification can help theinterpreter to clarify the sentence and grasp the meaning; note-taking can alleviate thememory pressure, which is benefit to listening comprehension. These strategies willhelp interpreter to cope with the obstacles.
