The Study Of Coordinate Structure “X De Y De” In Different Aspects

Coordinate structure “X de Y de” have a high frequency of use in modern Chinese, but the study of it is hardly found. The paper aims to discuss the basic issues of “X de Y de”. Such as how it can be made of; what syntactic functions they can take participate in sentences; what the meaning is; the functions in pragmatics and discourse; the features of diachrony and several special cases. This article is mainly made up of these aspects of the content.In the first chapter, I analyze the syntactic function and the structure of “X de Y de”. I discuss the features of its components and the whole.In the second chapter, I classify the “X de Y de” according to the meaning. I discuss the syntactic context and the constructional meaning.In the third chapter, I summarize the evolution of structural particle “de” and explore the source and development of “X de Y de”. I try to explain the mechanism of it with the cognitive linguistic theory.In the fourth chapter, I analyze the functions in pragmatics and discourse and the effects when it is regarded as a chunk.In the fifth chapter, I pay attention to several special cases “X de Y de”. In these cases, the meanings of X and Y are weaken and we can’t analyze the meaning of the whole according to them. I mainly discuss the meaning and development of the cases.In the last part, I summarize the paper and draw a conclusion.
