The Influence Of Homosexuality To Oscar Wilde’s Literature Creation

Oscar Wilde has been the focus of literature research in British and American literature, The contradiction of the author and his works attracted much attention. However, few researchers do their research through homosexuality perspective. Even the scholars who do this study always draw the conclusion that homosexuality is harmful to Wilde’s talent. In my opinion, prejudice or neglect against homosexuality will affect the overall study of Oscar Wilde. Since he is not only an aesthetics leader, But also a homosexual. The confusion caused by the homosexuality throughout his writing process.The essay is dedicated to explore, from homosexuality perspective, Wilde’s spiritual confusion as well as contradiction in his writing. There are three parts in this dissertation. The first part is mainly about the reason that Oscar develop into a homosexual; The second part is to prove Oscar is a homosexual through analyze his works,such as fairy tales, novels, dramas and so on. The last part is analyze the influence which homosexuality brings to his writing. The conclusion is the homosexuality is a main reason of his contradiction.
