The Interpretation Of Types Of Chinese Stupas In The Sight Of History Of Buddhist Thought

The stupa originated in India, since it was introduced into China,which has been into a part of China building indispensable. Experienced a wash in the long history, all kinds of types and number of Chinese Stupa become thick and heavy in colours rich essence of culture. When we want to more deeply understand these pagodas, found that the researches of pagoda are mostly in the limitation of architecture and art cultural point of view. The basic attribute of pagoda is religious building, but rarely the research study pagodas from the perspective of religion. Contrasting the different periods of type tower with Buddhist thought, there are all kinds of connections with the relationship between them. And at the same time, the architecture also means that buildings and thoughts cannot be separated, development of architectural form ideological influence. Therefore, this article attempts to interpret the formation and development of the pagoda type from the view of history of Buddhist thought.The author collected a large amount of relevant research works of the Stupa, reading the history of Buddhist thought books, on the basis of which trying to demonstrate:the relationship between the pagoda and the Buddhism thought, what extent the type tower determined by the thought. Hoping to play a valuable role, which causes the educational world to pay more attention to the stupa of religion, to return to its original and essential attribute. The author wishes more and more researchers of Buddhist stupas will attach importance to and join in the research, creating more valuable results, to make the pagoda inheritance and continuity.The first chapter of this paper to outline the pagoda history, arguing the feasibility of methodology that interprets type tower forming by the history of Buddhist thought, and illustrate the selection of research object.In the second to fourth chapter, from the perspective of the history of Buddhist thought respectively interprets formation of the Pavilion tower, Miyan tower and Wenfeng tower. The general idea as follow, firstly overview the type tower and the Buddhist background and use Buddhist thought to read type tower, then in the interpretation of features known that Buddhist characteristics and types of tower is consistent, the pagoda has been marked by the era thought.The last fifth chapter, first of all, concisely summarize the purport of this article and the process of argumentation of three type tower, and proposes a new idea that the stupa symbolic means the historical development condition of Buddhist thought.Innovation of this paper include the following aspects:1, Research of the pagoda from the religious perspective is very few, this paper is devoted to the interpretation of the pagoda from the perspective of the history of Buddhist thought, this result has a certain role to fill the blank.2, This paper proposes a new perspective, the pagoda’s symbolic can be used to reveal the Buddhist thought, to show the changes of Buddhist thought from the angle of the change of the pagoda.
