The Research On Wu Mei’s Contribution To The Creation And Education Of Modern Opera

As the leader of modern opera, Wu Mei is good at the knowledge of creation and the history of traditional opera. He devoted himself to the education of opera and became the first teacher of opera in modern university, which made him to be unique and important in the history of opera and literature.This thesis includes five parts. The first part focuses on Wu Mei’s experience and achievements in the theory of opera. Section one introduces his family and friends, trying to probe into the reason of his academic aspect. Section two summarizes his achievements of opera theory.The second part classified his opera works into 3 parts. Section one concentrates on the opera of politics and studies them on the basis of the social reality of his time. Section two focuses on the opera works of love and marriage, combined with the facts of marriage at that time. Section three focuses on the works of anecdotes of the scholars, which is common in ancient operas. Section four focuses on the feature and characteristic of all of his worksThe third part concentrates on Wu Mei’s teaching activities. Section one introduce the education republic of the Republic of China. Section two focuses on the period in Pecking University, which the course of opera in university was set up initially. Section three focuses on the period in Nanjing University, which the course of opera was gradually completed. Section four concentrates on Wu Mei’s teaching method:Practicing.The last part of the article concentrates on the achievements of his students, in this way, the importance of Wu Mei will be incarnated.This thesis is aimed at the education and academic of traditional opera, and has broken new ground of the research of Wu Mei. What’s more, it also has made the research of modern opera to be complete, which has reflected the contribution of Wu Mei as well.
