Abstract: It is very important phenomenon of literature and education in Chinese modern history for the writer to participate in university literary education. On the best of rearranging and analyzing this hysterical phenomenon systematically, This thesis is to search of the internal and external cause of the phenomenon, to abstract its characteristic and to analyze its contemporarily literary and educational significance and the enlightenments for us.Section one: Clarifying key words China is a country of poem, and has a deep tradition of poem teaching. However, there are distinguished differences between "the poems" and "literature" as a brunch of learning, poem teaching and literature education in modern university in the thesis. The conceptions of "writer" and "professor" of Chinese modernity have their own forming, developing process, so before moving to the topic, it is identities: "writer" and "professor" had become a unique sense in modern literary history of china. "The scholarish writer" and "the writerish scholar" has been blossoming splendidly in the field of literary producing and literary education.Section two: Reviewing __ the modern writers take part in literary education. There are more than one hundred writers who have participated in university literary education. This thesis begins with the historical material to the situation of modern writers' participation in university literary education, and lists the basic situation about more than sixty famous writers in modern history who engaged in the university literary education. For generality, it lists and states respectively from the contribution to the course of outline of literature and the relationship between the different schools of writer and the enlightenment to the future university literature education.Section three: Causes __ subjective and objective causes: the social facts of nation-poor and people-weak in china modern history compelled the writer to teach in the university in order to make a living, and objectively make the university become the writer's balance keeper of making a living and literary ideal. At the time that university education just began to spring up, the situation of being without any serious academic regulations, and with the flexible regulations of the professor employment offered an opportunity of teaching in the university for the writers who were scholarly but without any degree. The accumulation of Chinese traditional literary psychology made the modern writers form the psychology of concealing. When facing the darkness of society, so escaping into "the ivory tower" was a method of isolating themselves from society. After the way by which traditional intellectual entered into the social power structure was blocked, they needed another way to devote themselves to the society as an ordinary man.Section four: the Value from tradition to modern. The modern writers' participation in the university literature education has its deep and unique influence on the literary education of that moment, nowadays and future. This thesis interprets from the three aspects selectively the distinctively practical characteristic of modern writers' participation in ULE, the influence on the forming and developing of modern and contemporary literary brunches and the enlightenment to the future university literature education.
