Joe Hisaishi’s Animation Film Music Research

As part of the film music, animation film music is a novel form of music art with its own characteristics and aesthetic value. In this field the most representative character is the famous Japanese musician Jou Hisaishi. As one of the most prolific and influential contemporary composer by far in Asia, his creation on animation film music already formed his own unique style, and his music type has developed to a richer and more comprehensive level, which has become a symbol of the music hall.This paper conducted thorough research on Joe Hisaishi’s animation film music, based on fully elucidation of the unique artistic characteristics of Joe Hisaishi’s music and analysis of the development course and status of domestic film music, try to reveal shortcomings of domestic film music and discuss the improvement that can be made.This paper consists four chapters, first chapter mainly from the research background, content, status, purpose and significance illustrated how animation stepped into people’s life.The second chapter mainly expounds the concept of animation film and animation film music, and then carried detailed theoretical research on Joe Hisaishi’s art career, style and characteristics of music creation, representative works.etc. The third chapter mainly discussed the art functions and applications of animation film music, with specific animation films to analyze its application effect. The fourth chapter mainly discussed the reasons for the formation of Jou Hisaishi’s animation movie style and inspiration for Chinese animation film music, by studied Joe Hisaishi’s animation film music, revealed the shortcomings that Chinese animation film music need to improve, and finally put forward the author’s opinions for the future development of Chinese animation film music.
