During teaching Chinese as a foreign language, teaching vocabulary shows its especially importance, which needs scholars use some teaching strategies and teaching skills in the process of teaching,and help learners know enough vocabulary easily and make it meet the needs of communication. Association strategy is divided into association by contiguity, analogy association, Comparison of associative, and associative classification strategy and so on. Association strategy in vocabulary teaching directly can increase the comprehensibility of memory, promote the deep processing of vocabulary, help learners to lighten the burden of vocabulary memorization, and make learning efficiency. It is mainly shown in the following two aspects. On the one hand,it’s the shallow level of processing words, Which is also called processing of form, including vocabulary sound, form and collocation. On the other hand, it is deep level of processing words, which is also called semantic processing. In the process of vocabulary acquisition, using a variety of association strategy to find new information with similarity, which is helpful to rebuild and develop of the semantic information in the brain and internalize to absorb new information. In the meanwhile, it is also the process to complete the process of the construction of the new semantic network and memorize words. Using association strategy into teaching Chinese as a foreign language is an effective way, because the intermediate stage is the vocabulary dramatically increasing period for learners, and comprehensive course is main way to acquire vocabulary learning. So using Association strategy in middle stage comprehensive course is more appropriate. Propose association strategy in teaching of Chinese as a foreign language vocabulary teaching advice on the basis of designing specific teaching cases to make teaching better.
