A Report On The Interpretation For The High Efficiency Learning Strategies

This report is based on the author’s CI practice which is about the high efficiency learning strategies research, delivered by professor Zhang Qinlin to discuss common difficulties of C-E CI with the text and the way of coping difficulties, with the hope to provide suggestions to interpreter, especially during the process of CI.The author holds the clue of “discovery problems-analyzing problems-looking for material-solving problems” as the way to solve the question. First and foremost, prepare in advance is very important. Including background knowledge preparation, glossary collection and selecting interpreting strategies for CI. During the process, the author meets unexpected terminologies, culture differences and pauses, thus three translation strategies can be applied to interpretation, including supplement, deletion, remodeling. Every problem is illustrated with special cases. After finding the problems, the interpreter analyzes them and searches for the support material, finally the author comes to the suggestion and conclusion. Among the case analysis, the author points out the reasons for pause on the basis of Daniel Gile’s effort model.The author looks forward to providing experience for other interpreters so as to let interpreting process become smoother when they meet the same problem. Last but not least, taking note, using short-term memory and preparing in advance are significant factors in conducting CI. To sum up, the report aims to find a suitable way to deal with CI problems and help interpreters to find a good way to tackle the problem and overcome their weakness.
