Due to the disparity of cultural background such as history, culture, social customs etc between nations, language also reflects different cultural colors. Within language, glossary shows more abundant cultural colors and more affluent connotations than other parts. Culture-gapped words loading the essence of Chinese traditional culture embody the speciality of Chinese nation best.In teaching Chinese to speakers of other language, culture-gapped words become the key and difficult points because of their particularities. Besides mastering the literal meaning of words, Chinese learners should also understand the cultural meaning for better communication in Chinese.This paper focuses on the research of culture words through the definition,classification and analysis of culture-gapped words combined with studying of related teaching materials to prove the importance of culture words on Chinese international education. On the above basis, it also provides several teaching methods and suggestions of Chinese culture words teaching.
