This article sets about researching the "humanity" which written by Li jieren in his masterpiece Long River Novel systematically, discusses the strategies and specific appearance of the "humanity writing" in the text, as well as the expansion and transcendence to the Chinese traditional historical novels. Li jieren created Long River Novel to reappear the intense revolution of social life in modern Sichuan; he made "human" as the key to promote the development of history and shaped all kinds of characters in specific historical period, so that the history developed along with characters’ activities. The importance and description of "human" made the "humanity" to be an important part in Li jieren’s Long River Novel. At the same time, Li jieren broke the modes and restriction of "humanity writing" in traditional novels and modern literature, he descripted the Chinese humanity with realistic method and combined its naturality and sociality, and realized the integral writing of the humanity.This article is divided into six parts. The introduction part generalizes the research status to Li jieren and his works, discusses the topic reason and the purposes and significance of this article. In the first chapter, the reason and cultural, literary foundation of Li jieren’s "humanity writing" will be discussed, and I will emphasize that it’s the results of traditional and modern, East and West collide. The second chapter, the Chuanlazi imagines who facing lust clam and the narrative mode of love stories will be discussed to analyze Li jieren’s understanding to the lust of humanity. In the third chapter, I will discuss the anti-heroic feature of characters and the combine of good and evil of humanity, to analyze Li jieren’s description and tolerance to human weakness. The forth chapter, the "no ideal revolutionaries" as a kind of typical humanity and the pathological humanity in war, bloody, violent scene will be discussed, to find out Li jieren’s understanding to humanity in extreme events. The epilogue part is a summary to the whole article, and in this part I will point out the limitation of Li jieren’s humanity writing in his Long River Novel.
