In two hundred and seventy-six year of Ming Dynasty, the frontier of north is not always calm. Ming Dynasty From first to last must faces the treat of Mongolia. The main task of the Great Wall of Ji Town is guarding the capital, in the later of Ming Dynasty the Great Wall of Ji Town positive deal with the military treat of the late Jin Dynasty, so it very important in the Nine Frontier.In order to strengthen the power of this section, the government of Ming divided the Great Wall of Ji Town into ShanHai Town and Chang Town. The construction of the Great Wall of Ji Town is accompany with the evolution of military strength between Mongolia and Ming Dynasty, the policy of Ming Dynasty in Mongolia. Ming Dynasty begin to construct the Great Wall of Ji Town in early period, large-scale construction after T’u-mu Incident, and in Geng-Xu Incident, Peking face the cavalry of Mongolia again, then the construction of Ji Town tends to peak in Ming Dynasty.The military defense of Ji Town comprise wartime military with peacetime military. Every military town sets up ZongBing to control several Lu, and each Lu control a section of Great Wall, The layers of strengthen guard. The people who guard Ji Town increased year by year, and formation guarding system with main and guest soldiers.The Great Wall of Ji Town is very typical, represents the highest level of the Great Wall of Ming Dynasty. The characteristic of the Great Wall of Ji Town are brick-wall and the hollow enemy. The hollow enemy can garrison troop, and the solider can also live here, at the same time make frontier strengthen. Those measures contributed the town become the firs military towns in the later of Ming Dynasty.In the process of construct the Great Wall, made the traffic facilities perfectly in the northern of HeBei, TianJin and Peking, to promote the development of agriculture and handicraft industry in these areas.
