A Research On Knowledge Flow In Social Networks

After public announcement logic produce, the language of epistemic logic has become more abundant. Accordingly, their portray ability have been greatly improved. But in real life, different people have different objects which they send information to or receive information from. That is to say, not all members in the group will change its’epistemic situation because of a declaration. Research on knowledge flow in social network can compensate for public announcement logic’s issue in this respect. This thesis mainly focuses on the discussion of how to describe the process of knowledge flow in social networks.Social epistemic logic is got by adding social network structure and dynamic operator to public announcement logic(Ji Ruan, et al). From the perspective of language, social epistemic logic has three advantages over public announcement logic as follows:can describe the interrelationship between subjects; can describe the change of relationship between subjects; can describe the people who make the announcement (where the flowed knowledge come from).Another important method of describing knowledge flow in social network is to make use of hybrid logic, which is invented by Jeremy Seligman, et al. The operators of@n and ↓n in hybrid logic can depict the given subject and current subject. If we introduce F operator and declare operator, then we can describe the relationship in social networks, and the direction of knowledge flow. Epistemic logic of friendship can roughly describe the knowledge flow in social networks.In real life, there are lots of obscure and fuzzy knowledge flows. For this, we still want to use public announcement logic to deal with:as long as knowledge receivers’epistemic state changed reasonably, we view it as that publisher makes an announcement to receivers through some way (such as body language). And the content of this announcement is just the knowledge which receivers’knowledge changes after that. It can be said, we view what’s receivers’knowledge change as what the publisher announced. We can classify knowledge flow according to intentionality to refine the theory about knowledge flow in social networks. The main structure of this thesis is as follows:Part Ⅰ:Introduce some basic concepts, such as "social networks" "communication channels"、"knowledge flow". So we can make clear the scope and intention of this paper more often.Part Ⅱ:This is the center of this thesis and mainly discusses two methods in describing knowledge flow in social networks:add social network structure and dynamic operator to public announcement logic and the method with the help of hybrid logic.Part Ⅲ:Propose some ideas in dealing with a kind of obscure knowledge flow in real life through examples. Put all these obscure knowledge flows into PAL. After this, discuss intentionality in knowledge flow in order that refine theory about knowledge flow in social networks.Part Ⅳ:Summarize the whole thesis and propose some remaining problems which may be needed more researches in the future.
