The Research On Punctuation In Warring States Chu Bamboo Slips

Previously, as the main material for the study of ancient Chinese punctuation, paper literature provided us with limited information about punctuation. But now, unearthed literature provided us with a lot of first-hand materials. For punctuation unearthed literature, academia has been a certain amount of attention. In the course of their study, many punctuations were found on bamboo slips.The study for punctuation belongs to the category of Philology. When the time to discuss regulatory issues of bamboo slips, punctuation can not be avoided. Excavated Warring States Bamboo Slips Manuscripts from the Chu Region, the Warring States bamboo Slips collected by Tsinghua University (1-4), and the Warring States bamboo Books collected by Shanghai Museum (1-9), are the research material of this paper. Warring States Bamboo Slips exvavaded from different plases, including:Wulipai, Yangtianhu, Yangjiawan, Changtaiguan, Wangshan(two sets), the tomb of Marquis Yi of Zeng, Jiu dian (two sets), Xiyangpo, Baoshan, Caojiagang, Guodian, and Geling.Compared with paper literature, these bamboo slips provides us with more extensive information. The delailed sort to Punctuation in bamboo slips will compensate for the lack of previous studies. Whether in the field of character or punctuation, Warring States Period is a nexus stage. Previously, punctuation is found in oracle, bronze, and Houma Covenants. And in slips of the Qin and Han Dynasties, punctuation species is relatively enriched. In order to understand the development of punctuation in the Warring States period, The Research on Punctuation in Warring States Chu Bamboo Slips has been developed for the title of this article. In the sorting on the basis of the definition section of this article punctuation, classification, and punctuation research methods were discussed. And made a part of the sentence to read symbols transverse study on their hierarchy.This article is divided into three parts.Part one:Briefly explained the significance of this article, the research materials, research status, and method.Part two:This part is divided into four chapters. Chapter one is the research for Judou Symbols. We will talking about it’s concept, usage, and hierarchical relationships between different Judou symbols. In the second chapter, Repeat Reading Symbols will be discussed. We will elaborate the concept of repeat reading symbols, and there usage. Chapter three is about co-written sign. As in the previous chapter, the concept and usage would be discussed. In the last chapter, we will discuss a few of those symbols appeared in Chu Bamboo Slips. Such as some color symbols in Chu bamboo Zhou Yi, and some few special form of symbols that appeared in bamboo slips.Part three:This part is the Appendix of this paper. It will display all the material about punctuation. This part is sort of punctuation. It shows the distribution of all the punctuation in the specific literature.
