This article deals with already published Warring States period bamboo strips of the Chu kingdom and makes a research into compound graphs found in these strips. It examines the method of determining compound graphs and compound graph signs, the structure of compound graphs, partial compound graphs and their grammatical relation, and the content of compound graphs. The paper explains their origin that is not to be a strokes reduction but a kind of’writing word method’. It also deals with their final extinction in relation to this. At last, the paper gives a list of compound graphs of Chu bamboo strips for further consulting.
