Objective: Insomniacs have the clustering traits of personality. Different cluster of personality characteristics of patients with chronic insomnia, their Brains transmitters fluctuations have certain regular changes. This research reveals the Correlations of personalitycharacteristics and insomnia on the aspect offunctionality ofbrain neurotransmitter by using the Encephalofluctuograph Technology(ET).Methods: This study correlation analysis for the study of statistical methods, as the breakthrough point, in brain electrical signal using brain electrical nonlinear methods and Eysenck Personality Questionnaire for technology evaluation, 60 cases of conform to ICD-10 diagnostic criteria, and 30 cases of healthy controls. And test all of people with Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI), Self-evaluation of Anxiety Scale(SAS), Depression Self rating Scale(SDS),which for medical clinical background testing as included criteria, to all the participants at the same time the method Eysenck Personality Questionnaire(EPQ), dimension of E, N, P, L table’s testing, and temperament type classification. The brain fluctuation technology(ET) determination of two groups of neurotransmitter in the brain power and relative power, is insomnia group and the control group in E, N, P, L personality dimensions on the distribution of the similarities and differences and the similarities and differences of temperament type distribution, and neurotransmitter in the brain corresponds to shock spectrum function S1, S2, S4, S5 and S7, the differences in the distribution of S11, and correlation analysis of personality and neurotransmitter in the brain function.Results:1: Personality Dimensions: insomniacs E points lower(P < 0. 01), N, P, L points increased(P < 0. 01);2: Temperament Types: patients with insomnia temperament type as the choleric type personality, the depression type personality(P < 0.01), while healthy people temperament type as the middle type personality;3: Encephalofluctuogram Neurotransmitter Changes: ①the measured power: whole brain neurotransmitter function in patients with insomnia leveldecreased, the brain neurotransmitter GABA, Glu, 5- HT, Ach, NE and DA are abnormal activity(P < 0.05); ②relative power: S1, S4, S5 aresignificantly lower than control group, S2, S7, S11 aresignificantly higher than control group(P < 0.05);4: Temperament types, Specific regularity and feature changes of the activation of Specific Neurotransmitter in the brain : sanguineous temperament has significant positive correlation with S1, S2, and negative correlation with S5(P < 0.05); choleric temperament and has significant negative correlation with S1(P < 0.01), and significant positive correlation with S7(P < 0.05); depression has significantly negative correlation with S11(P < 0.05); no significant correlation with phlegmatic temperament; Intermediate type and S4 has significant positive correlation(P < 0.05), and S11 has significant negative correlation(P < 0.01).Conclusion:1: Compared with healthy people(P﹤0.01), nonorganic insomnia patients have significantly lower personality E dimension values, however, N, P and L dimension values are significantly higher than healthy people(P﹤0.01). The temperament type of nonorganic insomnia patients, middle type is significantly lower than healthy people. In the neurotransmitter in the brain function, imbalance in the neurotransmitter in the brain function in patients with insomnia.2: Compared with healthy people, nonorganic insomnia patients have imbalance neurotransmitter function.
