With the revival of Western political philosophy and the rise of domestic study of political philosophy, the exploration of the ideas and the construction of the system of Marx’s political philosophy are gradually being put on the agenda. Different from the critique of Marx’s political philosophy from Western historicism, conservatism, liberalism and other political philosophy genre, domestic discussion on Marx’s political philosophy focused on several aspects of the text and thought, interpretation and innovation, reflection and construction, criticism and responses, experience and value.On the basis of research status of Marx’s political philosophy from home and abroad, relies on the critique of Marx’s political philosophy from the synthesizers: Sabine, Strauss and Rawls, the three who major in the history of Western political philosophy, this article focuses on the analysis of the similarities and differences among their awareness of Marx’s dialectics, historical materialism, capitalism and communism, and points out the root cause of their misperceptions about Marx’s political philosophy. On the understanding of the dialectics, they split the unity of content and form of the thought, the unity of connotation and denotation of the concept, the unity of theories and methods of the philosophy; on the understanding of historical materialism, they relieved the important role of the concept of class in linking the economic analysis and political theory; on the understanding of capitalism, they got out of the material modes and conditions of production and didn’t recognize the inherent nature that hidden in the form of the outside; on the understanding of communism, they saw communism as still rather than movement, purpose rather than process, stagnation rather than development. Based on Marx and Engels’s original text, this article responses to the critique of Marx’s political philosophy from Sabine, Strauss and Rawls, discusses the connotation of Marx’s political philosophy:the dialectics as the theoretical thinking, the historical materialism as the theoretical meaning, the capitalism as the theoretical basis and the communism as the theory purport.Finally, this article gives an appropriate attention to the theoretical value and practical significance of Marx’s political philosophy, analyzes the highlights and deficiencies of itself, and points out the future directions of making efforts to construct the system of Marx’s political philosophy.
