Traditional easel painting, ever as a main representation in realm of art and a conventional mode of expression, has been in an embarrassing situation since twenty century. In another way, the familiar painting style and approaches employed by great masters have reached the peak of perfection, which as well are representatives in the history of modern arts. But young artists are still deeply in love with the easel. As a result, they have to face the situation of revolution of the easel art. For instance, traditional paintings are bound to compete with the new media, including photograph, video and device, for the leading role. There comes up a group of people who are adept to making use of their intuition to get the perception of the world, utilizing their conception to make a judge of the world and taking advantage of the abundant forms to emphasize internal emotion. Consequently comes the work which reconstructs the conventional composition system. Jules de Balincourt is exactly one of the "innovation artists", and he has made great achievements in this field. In this thesis, taking the social, the time and the politic background that Jules de Balincourt lives in as reference, combined with his art works and his distinctive painting mind, both the spiritual connotation of the works of Jules de Balincourt and the formation and evolution process of his painting style are analyzed. He emphasizes on his own emotion with interesting tableaus. Besides, Balincourt loves to observe things in an objective way, and this makes him a marginal man when he paints what he sees with travelling around the world. As a result, he is also a social depictor. The application and theoretical value of the Post structuralism are studied by presenting the influence of Balincourt’s life experience on his understanding of art value of his work and charisma of his art. And what’s more, a new way is tried to find in "innovation painting" instead of traditional easel painting.
