With the improvement of Chinese international reputation, more and more overseas students choose to study in China. The foreign Chinese teaching has gradually been paid much attention by scholars at home and abroad. As a special part of speech, quantifier occupies an important position in foreign Chinese teaching. Due to the smaller number and the single usage in other languages, the quantifier learning is very difficult and easy to appear errors for most of the foreign students. And a majority of foreign Chinese teachers also treat the quantifier teaching as a difficulty in the whole process of the Chinese teaching. Therefore, in order to improve the foreign Chinese quantifier teaching, taking the Indian students as the research object, this paper recorded and analyzed the grasp and application of Chinese noun quantifiers by the Indian students. On the basis of that, it accordingly generalized the error types that often appeared among the Indian students when they studying the Chinese noun quantifiers. Through analyzing the causes for existence of these errors, it proposed the effective teaching methods and teaching strategies, which should be adopted in the foreign Chinese quantifier teaching. The research methods used in this paper mainly include the comparative analysis method, questionnaire survey method and summarizing method, etc. It plays an important role in research process by using these methods in combination.This paper can be divided into five parts: the first part is the introduction. The author explained the topic purposes and the utility value of the paper in detail. And then entering into the text of the paper, the chapter 1 is the literature review of relevance theory, which systematically introduced the research status and research results of Chinese quantifiers, and its definition, classification, characteristics, and other quantifier ontology studies. Chapter 2 centered on the experiments of this paper, which mainly introduced the questionnaire topic, object, the adopted methods and textbooks, etc. Chapter 3 conducted a statistical and analysis of the survey results by using the statistical method, and analyze the quantifier acquisition problems that each data results shown. And then summarized it in chapter 4, thus concludes the quantifier acquisition error types and causes that the surveyed students apt to appear. The last chapter is the teaching research. The author aimed at the specific errors and provided the effective teaching strategies and teaching methods for Chinese quantifier teaching, in order to help the foreign Chinese teachers to improve the teaching quality of Chinese quantifiers.
