There exists a time-honored folk ritual ceremony aimed at expressing appreciation to a God who drives away pestilence among Tu Jia people in the history. During the ceremony, they pray for God’s bless.We call this ceremony votive offering. Rich in the history and styles, it combines dance,folk arts, music culture,depends on Nuo alter,and shows by the way of redeeming a wish.As a phenomenon in the history,it covers Tu Jia religious folk culture,shows up in colorful forms of art.It is definitely a typictal miniature of Tu Jia Nationality’s culture.This essay chooses He Feng Lake Qing as the subject, researching ceremony by the way of Field investigation,literature retrieval ect.In the purpose of blending music types,design styles,functions and other crucial factors into Tu Jia history in the background of rich culture,hoping to perform a profound,multisional and specific research so that it could make use of the vivid combination of music and history to demonstract the charm of Nuo Yuan Drama and seek the meaning of music in this ritual ceremony.The essay can be divided into five chapters as follows.Chapter 1 The introductionIntroduces the reasons of selecting this topic and its meaning,demonstracts the content and ways of research containing all theories and generalizes the current conditions of Nuo Yuan drama in He Feng.Chapter 2It introduces the happening of Nuo and corresponding history and facing risks via telling folk stories about blood,God Nuo and his wife,and expressing hopes.Chapter 3It mainly records the process in which the author research in the He Feng Lake Qing at length and describe ceremony and music tnstruments. He Feng is illustrated from two aspects of vocal and instrumental music and ceremony’s dedicated music features,improperness mode, the mode scale, rhythm and tempo etc.Chapter 4It researches deeply into the structure,beat, tonality and libretto and analyses the features of ceremony music. From the musicology category structure of it and it also talk about God Nuo ritual music, rhythm, tonal, lyrics characteristics that are studied,expounds its scale and complete the structure characteristics of the rich, smooth melody, embellish cavity; free rhythm, Soft beat characteristics. Syllable is complete and the rich, the sentence patterns neat singing mode tonality characteristic and lyrics are very rich, regional, height sets of instruments and structural features. I make a contrast analysis in order to point out Nuo ceremony music embellish cavity, mode,and various characteristics and rich melody singing form and rhythm pattern.Chapter5Analyzed from the Angle of music anthropology God Nuo may alsobe a ceremony music as a sacrificial ceremony music of communication of people, god’s function,promote function of exorcism, entertaining entertainment gods, and the function of education It dissects the fuctions of choosing this kind of ceremony music assacred ceremony in the perspective of human being’s music history.As a result,it probes the deep cultural meaning of the ceremony.
