The Research On Gun

Gun as a myth character, the myth story of it which followed by Gonggong Buzhou mountain, before Dayu flood control, is an essential part of Chinese flood myth. There are a lot of records for the Gun in ancient books, but for a long time, due to the lack of systematic collation and research, academic circles exists a lot of controversy on issues of Gun. This paper, starting from the literature, through analysis and research, aim to understand the image of Gun and the story spread and evolution process, and step forward to discuss the story evolution rule.The thesis is divided into three parts: introduction, body and conclusion.Introduction: Reviews the achievements of Gun research since the beginning of twentieth Century, proposed the academic value of the research on Gun, and the feasibility of this thesis, and explains the writing purpose, structure and methods of this paper.The first chapter exploring the name of Gun: except for the homephone of Gun and Taowu, discussed the differences between Gun and Gonggong, confirmed that Gun and Gonggong is not the same myth.The second chapter analysis the image of Gun: mainly represented by the records in Chuci Guoyu Lvshichunqiu and the Myth historical novels of Ming and Qing Dynasties of Gun, sort out the evolution of the image of Gun.The third chapter explores the Gun story: sort out the Gun story firstly, and then illustrates the differences of the details of the story in sequence, and then have a relatively clear understanding of the myth of Gun.The fourth chapter put forward in response to the first three chapters, many factors influencing rheological Gun story, all sorts of factors behind the myths and legends of the rheological investigation, and then explore the story of rheology and the same mythological figures like Gun. Conclusion examines the course of research of this paper, summarizes the main viewpoints of the article, reiterated the significance of this study.
