| Along with the ever-changing development and update of network, micro-blog has already become a favorite application and has enjoyed great popularity among all the netizens. Compared with traditional blog, micro-blog possesses its unique linguistic features. The length of the massage must be limited within 140 words, and multiple channels, including PCs and mobile phones, are allowed to publish messages for sharing real-time news and information.Official micro-blogs stand out and show their irreplaceable importance because of their special functions. Official micro-bloggers are those certified by related organizations, so they are authoritative to send reliable messages to the public. Once large numbers of rumors shown on the Internet, official micro-blogs will work as platforms for clarifying misunderstandings and telling what really happens.The research of this paper is mainly based on the genre analysis theory of Swales and Bhatia. Through data processing of the 50 selected rumor-refutation messages in official micro-blogs, usage frequency and appearance percentage are obtained for the further study of the specific communicative purpose, move types, genre structure and language features of this genre. After analysis, nine moves are identified in this genre, namely moves of Providing Background Information(PBI), Providing Investigation Result(PIR), Describing Present Situation(DPS), Expressing Warnings(EW), Drawing Attention(DA), Introducing Witness(IW), Offering Further Evidence(OFE), Providing Detailed Links(PDL), and Conducting Punishment(CP). In addition, three language features are also identified in the research, namely, conciseness in wording, authoritativeness in expression, and deterrence in meaning.As a new genre, micro-blogs attracts little attention among experts and scholars. What’s more, little existing research has focused on the formation and linguistic features of micro-blog language. Therefore, the author hopes that this paper could contribute to the understanding of the move structure and features of the rumor-refutation message sent by official micro-bloggers and provide reference and foundation for future message writers. Meanwhile, the author hopes that this paper could prompt the development of linguistics research through the study of new forms of language use. |
