The life ontology of Zi Si and Marx is rooted in the profound historical and cultutral background of the east and the west. However, there are big defferences between Zi Si and Marx’s interpretations of life. Both of these two philosophers have their own distinctive wisdom of life respectively. Zi Si reflected the value and meaning of life from the emotional experience of induvidual to promote the harmony between the universe and life as well as to enhance men’s spiritual implication and the ability of rational consciousness, so that the universe, the nature and the man can intercommunicate harmoniously throughtout the entire life, aiming at making man’s spiritual life equal with the ideal moral life. Marx broke the western traditional life philosophy’s interpretation of life, that is metaphysics of life, eliminated the binary opposition between subject and object, understood the characteristics of human life properties by the way of life existence——the free and conscious essentiality of human life so as to realize the survival experience of human life as well as pursue the free and comprehensive development of human.In this thesis, the author compares the similarities and dissimilarities between Zi Si and Marx’s life ontology from four aspects through dialogues. The first chapter interprets and compares Zi Si’s idea of "harmony between human being and nature" with Marx’s life understanding paradigm——"practice production" from the methods of Zi Si and Marx’s life awareness to lay a foundation for the methodology of follow-up chapters. The second chapter mainly explains the theoretical basis of Zi Si and Marx’s life ontology and seeks for the entry point of complement and common-place between them by comparison. The third chapter focuses on interpreting the basic content of Zi Si and Marx’s life ontology and making critical, constructive and contemporary dialogues in order to provide reliable theoretical basis and faith for resolving the survival issues of contemporary human life. In the fourth chapter, this thesis mainly discusses the contemporary reflection on Marx’s Thought on ZiSi’s life ontology and the significance of life predicament.
