Wang Yangming put forward this thought in his later years,"Xinti exists without goodness or evil", which led to many shortcomings of subsequent academic points of view. In order to improve the shortcomings of Xin theory, Liu Zongzhou put forward the thought, "ChengYi", and tried to make "Conscience" included in "Yi". This "Yi", which can be also regarded as "Xinti" is a status called "supreme goodness is without goodness". At the level of Ontology, "Xinti", "Taiji", proved to be supreme goodness, runs in qi without showing any goodness and Ontology can’t be described by opposite goodness and evil, either. Because of its ability, "shengsheng", "Xinti" can be the origin of goodness and it also has the tendency, "approaching goodness and keeping away from evil". At the level of Practice, the key is making efforts on "Ji" and by elimination of mind, the mind to achieve goodness on purpose can be built up and Practice can be carried out inadvertently at last. If so, the realm, "Supreme goodness is without goodness", can be reached and the Xinti’s reversion of "supreme goodness is without goodness" will also come true.
