Ink Symbol In Cultural Context

Ink materials, which generated millennium ago, have changed drastically over the past hundred years. The internal ideology and techniques of ink paintings are completely different from that of contemporary ones. Based on the above research, the traditional standard for judge would be unbefitting the contemporary ink paintings. In this paper, a contemporary standard for judge, which based on the semiotic of art, is proposed. By comparing the semiotic language of contemporary ink painting and that of traditional ink painting, a thorough understanding of the former is displayed in the paper. "Contrast" is not only find the difference between the two styles of ink painting, but also understand the fundamentally difference. According to the cultural inheritance found in the "Contrast", the contemporary standard for judge is appeared and so does the future.
