The Influence Of Wen Zhengming’s Social Art On The Calligraphy And Painting Style

The subject of the paper studies Wen Zhengming’s social influence on his style of painting and calligraphy. Wen Zhengming is one of the most important artists in calligraphy and painting field in the middle of the Ming Dynasty, whose artistic talent and achievements are outstanding, far-reaching influence on later generations, especially on the development of literati paintings and made a positive contribution. Analzing the artistic style of the growth process, we’ll find it has an inevitable relation with his teachers and friends. This paper takes Wen Zhengming’ different social circles as a starting point, studing and discussing the character of all social circles,and the influence on his calligraphy and painting style during the process of making friends.The whole paper divides into six parts, The first part is the introduction, mainly introducing the content of the research, research significance, research state and research method etc.The second part introduces Wen Zhengming’s social background, this paper focuses on the effect of primary and middle Ming period’ political and economic about painting and calligraphy art, especially has influence on the effects of "Yuan pai" and "Zhe pai". Wen Zhengming’s family history of development was analyzed, which provide deep family details for his devote to his art. The third part introduces Wen Zhengming ‘s thought of how to deal with things, and analyzes Wen Zhengming’s calligraphy and painting art from the view of the two aspects which are Confucianism and metaphysics. It even analyzes the impact of him on doing with things all his lifetime. The fourth part focuses on Wen Zhengming’s travelling,whose travelling accompanied by his teachers, and forms its own style of painting and calligraphy, including his calligraphy teacher, painting teacher, and the influence of friends, which played an important role in the formation of his painting and calligraphy.The fifth part emphasizes the influence on Wen Zhengming’s ups and downs career, focusing on his stages which are before entering political stratum, middle and later painting style, and all of these three stages are different.The sixth part introduces the influence of Wen Zhengming’s calligraphy and painting art on the future generations, especially on "Wumen painting faction" which is very important. At the meantime, the influence on his native nation is also quite profound; and the influence on Dong Qichang’s is more valuable and far-reaching. Moreover, it even affected the thought of literati painting in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty.The purpose of this article goes through the research and analysis from many aspects, and the approach is from a sociological point of view rather than the view of art history, which is used to analyze and summarize the effects of social activities and the characters of his painting style formation, dealing with the relationship between social art and his different painting and calligraphy style forms during different periods. Therefore, to make the whole image of the great artist becomes more and more fullness and content.
