| There are differences between the translation of tourism texts and other practical writings in that the former involves a good deal of cultural items. Therefore, when dealing with tourism materials, the translator has to keep prudent and adopt mutiple translation criteria.In this thesis,the author will first discuss the text type and text features of tourism materials from the dimensions of lexis, syntax and text, thus making out the basic requirements and principles of tourism translation. Then, based on personal tourism translation practice, and under the guidance of cultural translation theory, the author probes into some typical examples of the case text. The case study is targeted to explore some effective strategies of the translation for cultural-specific items, coordinate structures and quotations including couplets, poems and sayings, the long and difficult sentences, etc.. By analysing and summing up the features, requirements, principles and skills of the C-E translation of tourism materials, the author hopes to offer some reference for the future. |
