Along with the increasing development of the opening-up policy,a growing number of foreign tourists choose to spend their holidays in China.The vigorous development of the tourism industry has promoted the development of our country's economy and the international cultural exchange.Thus,the importance of the translation of tourist texts is becoming increasingly obvious.This paper is a practice report on the Chinese-English translation of the selected parts of tourism publicity materials of Heihe City.The content of the translated text is a systematic introduction to the various tourist attractions,tourist resources and historical culture in Heihe.The purpose of this translation practice is to make foreign tourists more accurately understand tourism resources,historical culture and local customs in Heihe,improve Heihe's attraction to foreign tourists and promote the development of the tourism industry in Heihe.This paper is on the basis of this translation practice,summarized the various problems encountered in the translation,and put forward the corresponding solutions,hoping that this paper will provide some ideas to the English translation of tourism text in the future and further improve tourism text translation.This report is divided into four parts.In detail,the first part is the introduction to the translation task,explicitly describing the client,translation text and the client's requirements.The second part describes the process of translation task from three aspects,that is,translation preparation,translation process arrangement and post translation matters.The third part is case analysis,which is the key chapter of this report.Under the guidance of Nida's functional equivalence theory,the writer analyzes the difficulties of the translation practice with practical examples and puts forward the corresponding translation strategies from the three aspects of lexical level,sentence level and discourse level.The last part is a reflection and summary of the practice of the translation.Based on this specific translation task,the writer explores the professional qualities of translators,summarizes the limitation in the translation practice,and puts forward some suggestions for the translation of tourist texts.The writer hopes to provide some reference for future tourism publicity translation so as to promote the communication between Chinese and western culture and enhance the development of tourism industry in China.
