The Change Tendency Of Different Degree Of Internet Addiction Individuals In Cognition, Emotion And Self-esteem

With the development of internet, internet addiction is becoming a hot issue for researcher from all around the world. As we all known,internet addiction as a behavioral addiction has its characteristics in cognition,emtion and self-esteem.In order to discuss the difference of cognition,emtion and self-esteem on different addicted group(control group,mild addicted group,severe addicted group).The study is divided into two steps.Step one,we combined the score of CIAS and the average daily internet use time of internet addiction to three groups:control group,mild internet addiction,severe internet addiction.Step two,we discussed the cognition,emotion,self-esteem on the different group.Firstly, in order to investigate the cognition of different groups,we chose the N-back experiment and verbal fluency test to represent one’s working memory and verbal fluence. The three groups presented no significant difference on working memory. But significant difference was found on semantic fluency scores and verbal fluency scores.The severe the addiction was,the lower the verbal fluency was.Futeher more,only the addiction reach the severe stage,the group difference was significant.Secondly, in order to investigate the emotion of different groups,we chose the depression as the common emotion of internet addiction which was measuredt by Self-Rating Depression Scale.It showed significant difference among groups,the depression of severe group was the highest than the other groups,but the control group and the mild group have no significant difference/which means that only the addiction reach the seere stage,the depression was significant.Thirdly, in order to investigate the self-esteem of different groups,we chose the Rosenbe’s self-Esteem Scale. It presented significant difference among groups. The control groups and the mild groups were difference,while the mild groups and the severe groups were not.It means that when the addiction reach mild stage,the significant difference was prensented,while on the severe stage,the self-esteem was relative stable.
