| Internet Addiction Disorder(IAD)is a kind of pathologic internet using.It features in overusing or uncontrolled using internet and thus has a negative effect on mentality,society and working.The number of people who has IAD is increasing rapidly.There is a growing concern on IAD because of its dangerous.Relevant researches in IAD are urgently required.The scholars did a lot of research in the neural mechanism of IAD in recent years and found out that internet addicts have different kind of brain dysfunction.The exception in working memory is one of those dysfunctions.Based on event-related potentials(ERP),this paper discusses the ERP effects of executive control in the working memory of internet addicts and compares the differences between the internet addict group and the control group in working memory level.Study 1: Using the technology of ERP,setting N-back model as research task,using letters as material,divided into three load levels: 0,1,2.20 internet addicts was selected by using Young’s Internet Addiction Scale and measures their working memory level.This study attempted to find out the various pattern of ERP time course under a gradual increase on memory load level and the brain distribution.Study 2: Using the technology of ERP,setting N-back model as research task,using letters as material,divided into three load levels: 0,1,2.20 internet addicts was selected as the internet addict group and another 22 normal college students as control group by using Young’s Internet Addiction Scale and measure their working memory level.The study wanted to find out the features of brain electrical mechanism in the working memory of internet addicts by comparing the brain electrical components(N2,P2,P3)of two groupsBased on the analyses and discussions of the two above-mentioned studies,following conclusions were drawn:(1)The accuracy rate of the internet addict group declined as the increase of memory load,and their response time increase as the increase of memory load.(2)The P3 amplitude of the internet addict group declined as the increase of working memory.The changes of P3 amplitude are related to the memory load.It also reflects that the distribution of memory load related attention and the transfer of cognition energy are necessary during the process of refresh,encoding,storage and retell in cognition.(3)The college students in control group have processing advantages in the working memory task.Their accuracy rate is higher and their response time is shorter than those in internet addict group.(4)There are huge differences in P2 and N2 components between the control group and the internet addict group.In the internet addict group,the average amplitude of P2 is large while the average amplitude of N2 is small.This reflects that the internet addict group need more cognitive resources in working memory processing to get the same achievements of the control group.In the mean time,the advantage inhibition function of the internet addict group has flaws.Because the advantage inhibition function is a part of central executive function of working memory.The result means the working memory of the internet addict group has flaws. |
