An Analysis Of The Interpretation Of Figures

Figure interpretation is a key point and a major difficulty in the interpretation betweenEnglish and Chinese. It is a great bottleneck that restricts the quality of interpretation.Therefore, its accuracy and speed is essential to the whole interpreting process. This thesismainly consists of three parts:1. An experiment through which the difficulty of figureinterpretation is proved and more importantly its causes are explored in-depth;2. A list of themajor existing methods dealing with figure interpretation, and a new one put forward by theauthor himself according to these causes;3. An interpretation experiment in which all themethods are applied and tested, showing the shortcomings of the old ones and the simplicityas well as practicality of the new one. This thesis aims at verifying that the proposed methodis scientific, easy and effective, providing a new approach to the interpreters so that it willfacilitate their work by helping them reduce the burden of the brain in the face of figureinterpretation.
