A Report On The Interpretation Of The Business Of Things-the Common Problems And Solutions Of Note-taking In Consecutive Interpretation

This interpretation report focuses on the analysis of the note-taking problems that were met in consecutive interpretation practice,offering feasible solutions to these problems.Under the background of increasing communication among countries and regions around the world,communication through language should be freed from barriers.So interpretation,undoubtedly,serves as a significant bridge of communication between countries and regions.Interpretation is indeed a complicated and challenging job,where an interpreter is required to master various professional skills.Thus the interpretation note-taking is a must.During an interpretation,note-taking can assist the brain to memorize what the speaker says,and improve the quality of interpretation.However,note-taking is often a weak point many interpreters have,so it's important to find out the weaknesses and seek out the feasible solutions to them.Therefore,this report is conducted by demonstrating such four weaknesses as information selection in note-taking,note-taking structure,symbol application and distribution of listening and note-taking,and providing the corresponding feasible solutions to the weaknesses,namely,highlighting the note of important information,applying step structure and inverted triangle structure,employing note symbols from reference and self-creation,and taking notes with seventy-percent listening and thirty-percent noting after getting the meaning.Additionally,examples are offered to address the problems and support the solutions.Hopefully,this interpretation report can sum up the weaknesses and problems existing in the interpretation practice.Also,these problems can be avoided in later practices and professional skills can be improved greatly.Furthermore,this report is hoped to provide a reference of interpretation note-taking for other interpreters.
