After the introduction of Buddhism in China, it presents different arts when itspread into different regions. Tibetan Tang Ka and the Dun Huang frescoes are thebest representatives of Buddhist art form. In this paper, we explore the2main artforms in2domains, that is, Tibetan Buddhist Tang Ka and Dun Huang muralswhich are located in the hinterland of the Central Plains Buddhist In the same formof Buddhist art image-the image of the Goddess of Mercy as research startingpoint, followed by further analysis of the sociological reasons for the formation fordifferent characteristics.The paper focuses on comparison on modeling of Guan Yin Bodhisattva ofDun Huang frescoes and Tibetan Tang Ka to study and comprehend their differentmodeling characteristics. The article is divided into three parts: The first part weresearch historical and cultural background of the Central Plains and Tibet and listtheir styling features of Guan Yin Bodhisattva to put forward ideas and issues to bestudied. The second part we mainly compares and analyzes the differences andsimilarities of modeling, lines, colors, textures of Guan Yin Bodhisattva of TangKa and the Dun Huang frescoes.The third part analyzes the arts and culture ofTibet and the Central Plains, and analyzes what are culture, geography andhistorical background’s impacts on Buddhist arts from a sociological angle.
