Jiao Xun was one of the most influential scholars working over The Book of Changes in the Qing dynasty, and had produced an abundance of works thereof, among which, Zhouyi bushu is one dedicated to expounding the idea that Kong Yingda has not in his Zhouyi zhengyi exhausted the whole meaning of Wang Bi’s Zhouyi zhu, and that Wang’s work has to be explored. This paper takes Zhouyi bushu as its object, and, after an exposition of Jiao Xun’s life and works, attempts an initial study on Jiao’s Yijing scholarship which covers the following four parts:a discussion of the background in which Zhouyi bushu was created, a textual research of the various editions of the book, a discussion of its content, and, lastly, its value and influence. |
