Study On Translating Chinese Two-Part Allegorical Sayings Into Uyghur

Two-part allegorical saying is a unique language form in Chinese idioms. It is a part of components of Chinese culture created by the people during their lives, and widely spread among the nation. The structure of two-part allegorical saying is formed with unique,vivid and humoristic features. It expresses strong Chinese culture and national characteristics. The two-part allegorical saying is not only used by different social classes in spoken language, but also used by different literary works such as classic, modern and contemporary literatures. As a form of idioms, Chinese two-part allegorical saying can not be found appropriate expressions in Uyghur during the translation.The main reasons are:first, Chinese two-part allegorical saying has a special language form; second, Chinese two-part allegorical saying carries cultural connotation. For the translators, it is always a challenge to translate two-part sayings into Uyghur. The individual characteristics of cultural connotation in two-part allegorical sayings have made cultural vacancy because of the cultural difference between Chinese and Uyghur. The existence of cultural difference has led the uncertainties as translating Chinese two-part allegorical sayings into Uyghur. Therefor, it is believed that there is no successful translation work, unless to make an appropriate dispose in cultural difference from source language to target language.With the rise of cultural studies in recent years, the understanding of traditional notion in translation has been changing gradually among the scholars in translation field. Translation is no longer regarded as a cross-language work, but as a cultural communication. Any translation works should be done under the guidance of relevant theories, and there is no exception of Chinese two-part allegorical sayings when translated them into Uyghur. Although there exists cultural vacancy in translating two-part allegorical sayings, those issues can also be solved under some specific theocratical guidance.The image, emotion, structure and logic of two-part allegorical sayings are fully showing the culture of Han Chinese, so it is the norm of a successful translation to deal with the cultural factors of two-part allegorical sayings in an appropriate way. In the translation, the principle and flexibility should be managed together, and the translation approaches should be adapted according to the particular case.The thesis is formed with two parts. The first part displays the theocratical framework through four chapters. The first chapter is about introduction, in which includes the background of the topic, significance of the study, and present situation of the relative studies. The second chapter is about the overview of Chinese two-part allegorical sayings, in which the definition, classification and features of the two-part allegorical sayings are discussed. The third chapter is about the cultural difference in Chinese and Uyghur, in which the contrastive analyses of these two cultures are displayed, and have found out the differences among these cultures as well as the influential factors during the translation, and the suggestions are made for solving the factors, meanwhile, the translation strategies are also summarized. The forth part is about the conclusion of the thesis. The send part of the thesis is about the practical translation. The author has translated700Chinese two-part allegorical sayings in this part for the purpose of practicing self translation skills by using theories of translation which have been learned over the past few years, and for filling up the blank of translation about Chinese two-part allegorical into Uyghur for translation major postgraduates.
