In psychology,depression tendency is also called the subthresholddepression,subthreshold depression is such kind of depression which the patients havethe depression emotion are only with the parts of symptoms of depression,but not meetthe target symptoms of major depressive criterion and the course indicators of diseaseof depression.In this study,we discussed the depression tendency of high schoolstudents’ attribute,and how to use the high students’ attritional style to reduce theirlevels of depression tendency.This will have an important significant in mental healtheducation of high school students.Based the basis of the preceding relative studies,this study designed a system ofeffective process for attributional training,used the Self-Rating Depression Scale andHigh School Students’ Academic Attribution Questionnaire surveyed the depressiontendency of high students and the characteristic of their attribution.Depressiontendency high school students and ordinary high students were compared onattribution,expectations and emotions.On this basis,selected two homogeneousclasses,and divided them into the experimental group and the control group.Trained theexperimental group by the systematic orderly attributional training strictly,while didnoting to the control group. In the end,analyzed the differences of the attribution andthe depression tendency between the experimental and control groups.The findings were as follows:(1) The depression tendency high students intend to attribute the success tounstable causes,and attribute the failure to the stable causes,they will not willing tomake efforts for the next success.when they have success,at first,they produced bysurprise,and then felt appreciate.When they fail,they produced by inferiority,and thenfelt angry;the ordinary high students intend to attribute the success to stable causes,andattribute the failure to the unstable causes,they will willing to make efforts for the nextsuccess.when they have success,they felt proud and grateful.When they fail,they feltupset and angry.(2) Through attribution training,depression tendency high school studentsattribution to the reasonable direction:they intend to attribute the success to stable causes,and attribute the failure to the unstable causes.(3) Through attribution training,the experimental groups believe the success ofthis result is a stable and unchanging,the failed of this result is unstable variable, andthey are willing to pay for a successful effort.(4) Through attribution training,the experimental groups’ emotion change to thepositive direction,depression tendency significantly decreased.This shows that asystem of effective process for attributional training can significantly decreaseddepression tendency,and to reduce their mental harm.
