| In the early1970s, with the rising of the Western feminism movement. Since then, the study of language and gender attracted the attention of linguists, gender differences in language, has become one of the main topics of the social linguistics concern. Research on gender language, foreign research results have been very rich; while domestic China research has not yet formed their own theories, but mainly in the study of a foreign language, the lack of gender differences in the Chinese understanding of the law itself.Therefore, this paper based on the existing fruitful modal studies. Contemporary Literature "Red Rock","party pearl","Red Sorghum","black horse","Wives and Concubines","alive","White Deer", this seven works for the corpus, combined with grammar, pragmatics and the theory of rhetoric, through comparative analysis of quantitative research methods and statistical corpus of men and women on the main characters in the same sentence Modal class made use of specific discourse, and summed up men, women modal characteristics:Women Do Men are more adept at using words to express their rich tone, delicate tone and emotion, but it is not entirely true, the use of modal frequency is higher in men than women in some sentences class. The paper also from the physical, psychological and social aspects of this phenomenon is caused by the reasons for analysis, research and development of this thesis can enrich the language and gender and hope that on this basis, while helping men and women to understand gender differences in language and improve communication the gender difference is caused by misunderstanding.This paper analyzes the research, hoping in theory for language study provides new ideas, help to grasp the universal law of men and women of speech, and to reveal the relationship between gender a factor with language variation between rich sociolinguistic research. In practice, people rationally and correctly treat this phenomenon differences and recognize the value of both sexes, to provide better social and cultural atmosphere of gender self-development. |
