Grammar plays an important role in second language learning. The improvement of grammar helps the improvement of the level of second language. The use of learning strategies is quite helpful to the learning of grammar. However, the domestic study of Chinese learning strategies starts later compared with that of English learning strategies. In a macroscopical sense, most of the study has been focused on the universal research. In a microscopical sense, phonetics, oral Chinese, reading, writing have also been studied. However, grammar strategies have never been researched.By constructing a scale of grammar learning strategies with good reliability and validity, the author studies the usage of Chinese grammar learning strategies of Indian medical students and discusses the relationship among sex, age, results and grammar learning strategies. Based on the result of the questionnaire, suggestions on teaching Chinese grammar to speakers of other languages are mentioned to help improving the future Chinese grammar learning of students by using strategies effectively. We take medical students of Nantong University as objects of our research. Based on Wen Qiufang’s theory of learning strategies, we make a scale of grammar learning strategies. Students are required to choose the answers according to their actual learning situations. Then we make an analysis of the data collected by SPSS19.0. The analysis shows the following facts:(1) Generally speaking, the usage of management strategies is relatively higher than the usage of learning strategies. The most often used grammar learning strategies are output monitoring strategy, interpersonal strategy, while the least often used strategies are finding errors strategy and word strategy.(2) Boys are better at using of both learning strategies and management strategies than girls. However, there is no significant difference between them on the use of grammar learning strategies.(3) High-score students are better than low-score students at using of earning strategies and management strategies. There are significant differences between them on the use of grammar learning strategies, learning strategies, management strategies and13specific strategies.(4) Elder students are better at using of both learning strategies and management strategies than younger students. However, there is no significant difference between them on the use of grammar learning strategies. Finally, based on the result of our research, we discuss the teaching of Chinese grammar to speaker of other speakers and give suggestions on future teaching, in the hopes of helping both teachers and students. The study is completed on the basis of related analysis done by former scholars. The result of the study will supplement the theoretical research on teaching Chinese as second foreign language. Besides, as a lot of study has taken students from European countries, America, Japan and South Korean and students from India have never been studied before, this study is a must for this field.
