Discrimination Of Verb And Noun Measure Words Based On Corpus

When quantity of movement is symbolized as quantitative phrases that combined ‘ci’and ‘chang’ of verb-measure words with the number, that is mainly function ascomplement or adverbial phrases. Occasionally, also function as adnominal phrases. In thecase of “VP+MP+NP” structure on ‘ci’ and ‘chang’, opinions can be divided on regulationof properties. This research is presented ‘ci’ and ‘chang’ what sentence components haverelations in the sentence structure.First, it is compared that difference of category range when ‘ci’ and ‘chang’ are usedto verb-measure words and noun-measure words. Furthermore, this study analyzed to eachother’s grammar functions when ‘ci’ and ‘chang’ are located on structure of“VP+MP+NP” in the angle of syntax and semantics, and it is investigated that syntaxcondition when they also function as complement or adverbial phrases.In the case of combination with the verb,‘ci’ and ‘chang’, for the verb, they can’tcolligate with verb. Colligations boundary properties of verb with quantitative phrases areclose connected. In the case of combination with the noun, all of ‘ci’ and ‘chang’ can be amodifier of abstract nouns. Combinations the noun,‘ci’ and ‘chang’ can’t only establish asa matter of form, but also make sense.‘chang’ also can colligate with concrete nouns.This research found out how to determine that relationship of quantitative phrases,verb and noun is based on semantic orientation and collocation law in the “VP+MP+NP”structure.
