The present study applied two experiments to explore the interaction betweenaction dexterous degree and attention level in SPT effect of action memory, bydoing this, we expect to figure out the processing mechanism of movement factorin SPT effect of action memory. Experiment1employed2type of encoding (SPTvs. VT)×2action dexterous degree (crude vs. dexterous)×2attention onmovement (focus vs. disperse) mixed experimental design, in which the first andthe third variables were between-subjects factors and type of movement variablewas within-subject factor, to investigate the influence of attention on movementfactor on the subject performed task advantage effects when individuals learnt thematerials with different types of movement. The findings showed that the subjectsperformance of dexterous movement materials is better than the performance ofcrude movement materials, enactment effect can be improved when dexterousmovement is coducted. We explore the reason of this by controlling the differentlevels of attention, and we find that the interaction between action dexterous degreeand attention level is significant, when the subjects performed in attention dispersedcondition, the SPT performance of dexterous action were more destroyed than theperformance of crude action. It means that the action dexterous degree can reflecthow much attention the subjects focus on movement, higher attention on themovement lead to better performance in enactment effect. Experiment1proved thatprocessing of movement factor in SPT effects can be influenced by attention level,it is stategic. As we can not remove the influence of objects in experiment1, wewill modify the type of encoding to three conditions in experment2, we use3typeof encoding (enactment with objects vs.enactment without objects vs. verbalcondition)×2action dexterous degree (crude vs. dexterous) two-factor mixed design, in which the type of encoding is between-subjects factors and the degree ofaction variable was within-subject factor, to illustrate the relationship of attentionon movement and the presence of objects.The results proved that objects presencecan promote subjects performance, but it is not the decisive factor to enactmenteffect; The interaction between action dexterous degree and attention level issignificant, the influence of attention level to the movement in the SPT effects ofaction memory yield to the objects presence.Generally speaking, this research verified that the attention subjects paid tothe action influences the performance of SPTs. We got the results are in line withthe episodic integration view which considers that processing of action componentin SPT effects of action memory is stategic.The study stops a gap about theresearch of attention on movement in action memory.As a result, the futureempirical studies in this field should pay much attention to the effect of actiondexterous degree on experimental validity.
