Abstract:The propagation of Buddhism into Thailand and China caused translation of religious doctrine into their own language and develop their own new vocabularies. The main languages that use in the propagation of Buddha’s teaching are Pali and Sanskrit. The translations of Pali and Sanskrit into their own languages develop new vocabularies. These new vocabularies are difference between Thai and Chinese. This study was done for comparing the difference between these new Thai and Chinese vocabularies. We also analyze the influence of Pali and Sanskrit to developing vocabularies of both Thai and Chinese. Furthermore, we study about the influence of propagation of Buddhism to other languages as well as the influence of propagation of other religious to the languages.There is no prior report pertaining to this. This study is valuable and has the benefit to the future studies. |
