A Research On Qing Of Xunzi

Qing ran through from the beginning to the end of the Chinese Philosophy. In the perspective of time sequence,no matter what in Classic of Poetry,Shangshu or poetry, novels in modern times; In the perspective of space sequence, no matter what in Confucianism, Mohism, Daoism, Legalism, School of Naturalists or School of Names,Some praised but some Belittled,Qing still was an important Category in their Ideologies. Confucianism,as one of the most important part of Chinese traditional culture,"Qing" played a key part in them,whether in Human Nature,Politics or mind training.So was to Xunzi’s Ideology.In it,Qing was not nature and emotion simply.In Xunzi’s Ideology,Qing together with nature,ceremony,law and music constituted his theory on Qing.In Xunzi’s theory on Qing,the relationship of qing and nature constituted his theory of nature-qing,that was to say qing dated from nature and qing was in the perspective of nature.By the analysis of the inner logic of Xunzi’qing,we can see that "qing and nature are homogeneous ",and we find a reasonable basis for Xunzi’theory of human nature.The relationship of qing and ceremony and law constituted his theory of ceremony-qing.On the one hand,Xunzi proposed that "ceremony setted by qing" basised on tsunatsune of society,that was to say according to the diversity of qing,Xunzi admitted that the diversity of ceremony;on the other hand,Xunzi insisted that qing was not perfect,therefore in order to reconstructing the ideal social order,Xunzi tried to limit qing through ceremony and law.The relationship of qing and music constituted Xunzi’s theory of qing-music.In another words,that meant guiding qing which was good and evil through music,to attain the final goal,namely "hua-xing-qi-wei" in the end.Although Xunzi as evil as the fulcrum, but he also view that "everyone can be Yu", So,he converted not only through ceremony and law, but also "music", than reached the humanities height.In short,Using qing as the clue,basing on the evil human nature,and applying ceremony,law and music,Xunzi constituted his theory on qing which reconstructed the ideal social order and transcendence of inherent.This provide a new perspective of the understanding of Xunzi.
