Under the advanced technology, the impact of social networks, integration and rapid development of various cultural economy, we are experiencing an era of great transformation and development. This younger generation college freshmen waves on the change, they are always at the forefront of the times and technology. It seems that the interpersonal and learning methods as well as lifestyle and so on of the recent college freshmen all experienced a huge change, for example from backwardness to advanced, from slow to fast changes. However, research on the mental health of college freshmen found that mostly were static psychological study of college freshmen. These studies on mental health education of college freshmen and construction guidance mental health of college students’understanding of course has a very important significance, but the mental health of college students have experienced changes in recent years, the situation is really more concerned about the author’s research.Therefore, firstly, this study introduces the study of college freshmen’mental health about domestic and foreign scholars’. Standing on the shoulders of giants,1propose the direction of this research------the mental health of college freshmen under social change. Secondly, the data in this study to examine the psychological screening for mental health is from Psychological center of Nanjing University which enter school from the year of2005to2013; The research tool is College Students Personality Inventory (be called for short’UPI’); The statistical methods mostly used is descriptive statistics. The study tries to use the first-hand data to answer the question of students’ psychological health trends.The last, conclusions of this study are as follows:1About different years, the mental health of college students have significantly different statistically.2In general, The huge changes of the mental health of college freshmen is the year of2008,2009and2010.During the indexes of UPI, the largest and most obvious change is the change in2008. The general trend is before the three years, the psychological problems of college freshmen was declining; After the three years, the trend continued to show positive year by year. But overall, the nearly three years of the mental health was significantly worse than the first three years.3There are not a significant correlation of the mental health and family background of College freshmen.4From the mental health’self-assessment of the students, the overall situation is increasingly optimistic.
