The Great Cultural Revolution (hereinafter referred to as the Culture Revolution) took place in1966. This unprecedented political and all-people involved movement was guided by an unified volition. It has been more than40years since the end of the Culture Revolution, but studies and researches about it have never ended. Some historians searched for origin causes of this movement while others have made numerous researches on Red Guards. However, few of them have studied about the impact the Seventeen-years’ Education before1966has had on Culture Revolution.In this dissertation, the author would give an analysis on the development history of the Seventeen-years’ Education based on searching lots of information and the clue of related historic events. Thereby, the subtle relations between that Seventeen-years’ Education and that movement could be discovered.This dissertation was formed by four parts, the introduction part mainly gave out the significance, the research actuality and the innovation point of this subject. The second part was mainly about the development history of the Seventeen-years’ Education. The development history was given along with the passage of time and the evolvement of historical events; the third part was the main part of this dissertation. It has applied many interview materials to revealed the feature of the Seventeen-years’ Education and the relation between it and the Culture Revolution.In this part, it has contained many rare and valuable historical documents. The fourth part of this dissertation was about the analysis and conclusion of the Seventeen-years’ Education-Culture Revolution was an explosion of various society problems.The seventeen-years before Culture Revolution, education has been a specific and sensitive field which was full of conflictions. The goal that the State Education Department has given out and the events it carried out or the consequence it ended all turned to be a compelling topic to people. From the study of that education, people should think about what kind of student we need and what kind of education environment should people provide to the young. A good study on the Seventeen-years’ Education and Culture Revolution very necessary to avoid more tragedies in the future.
