This background of this topic is based on the new situation of contemporary higher a rts education. The focus for the research was based on China University’s various paintin g disciplines; mainly looking at the painting’s development process of higher art institutio ns as well as the development status of the discipline’s construction. In this topic, the mai n research methods utilized were literature research and case study. While on the one han d, by reviewing the development of Chinese modern painting and painting disciplines, it h ighlights the importance of subject characteristics of disciplinary construction of universit ies painting. On the other hand, it also analyses the obstacles met during the process of tea ching and training the model.4separate case studies were done on the Academy of Arts&Design in Songhua University, China Academy of Art, Fuzhou University of Arts&D esign, Fujian Normal University of Arts&Design. The4universities were studied careful ly and compared against one another. An in-depth analysis was conducted on the various problems faced by each individual institution’s training methods, such as the objectives; s ystem and procedures just to name a few. In order for painting to be regarded as a pure art form in today’s higher arts education situation, it needs to comply with the law of develop ment disciplines. This aids in building a better disciplinary system together with a person nel-training pattern. The attempts made by Chinese universities to strengthen and perfect t he arts scene will serve as a source of useful references and inspiration.
